At the heart of Freedom Strength and Fitness is Ron Nichols, a coach who believes strength is for everyone. Ron’s journey began with a simple goal: to create the perfect training space for his wife, Christine. This personal mission evolved into a lifelong commitment to helping others achieve their fitness goals.
With a black belt in three styles of Chinese martial arts, training in kickboxing and western boxing, and years of competitive experience, Ron’s expertise goes beyond the ordinary. He held the 198 lb World Deadlift record for three years and still holds the Indiana state record. In 2023, Ron set a national deadlift record in the Master's Retro Division and was named Athlete of the Year by the Natural Athlete Strength Association.
As an ACE Certified Orthopedic Exercise Specialist, Certified Pain-Free Performance Specialist (PPSC), and Certified Sports Nutritionist, Ron blends advanced knowledge with a no-nonsense approach to training. Whether leading the gym, volunteering as a nationally ranked powerlifting referee, or working toward his Advanced Nutrition Specialist certification, Ron’s focus is always on helping others succeed.
